Mission

The Center for Creative Development and Leisure “GAGARIN” is an organization with the aim to improve life environment in the city. There are many ways to achieve that– we see our mission in creating in the city of Narva and the region a creative infrastructure, allowing the denizens as well as visitors to the city to realize their creative potential to the full, acquire new knowledge and skills, and spend their spare time productively. We utilize several methods for creative learning: master-classes, seminars, courses, and hobby-clubs. We have also developed curricula, material capacity and teachers for the realization of new or rare areas of creative activities. We are ready to pursue new kinds of activities that would be trendy, up-to-date and fashionable.

Different events and educational activities are carried out under the supervision of skilled and qualified teachers. The Center has been granted a license for educational activities by the Ministry of Education № 6388 HTM.

The activities of the organization are geared toward society in general through specific target groups:

 Individuals (adults, children, families).

Municipal, county, state and other organizations interested in creative activities and increasing the involvement of society members. These could be institutions of culture and education, commercial and tourist sector representatives, and public entities.

History. The Center “GAGARIN” was established in 2005 with the purpose of development of creativity for different groups of people. Since then we have grown from a single-project or one-idea kind of organization to a permanently operating handicraft Center, which organizes a lot of trainings, courses, semianrs and master-classes.

The Center “GAGARIN” organizes events on its own as well as on requests from organizations. Our target audience first and foremost is adults who lack opportunities for creative leisure organization.

In 2007 the Center received an award from the Intergation Foundation for the best project idea for adults « My Fatherland's Masters».

In 2012 our organization was listed in the The Most Successful NGOs of Ida-Virumaa catalogue.

Since 2013 the Center has been included in the list of NGOs acting in public interest and having VAT benfits.
